Bring your furry, feathered, or scaly best friend and head to Heart of the Forest RV Campground for a weekend made just for you and your pets! Whether you’re rolling in with your pup, your cat, or any other animal life companion, this is the getaway you’ve both been waiting for.
Enjoy fresh air, towering trees, and the kind of weekend where leashes lead to new adventures. Let the kids run with the dogs, swap pet stories with fellow animal lovers around the campfire, and make memories that the whole family — fur babies included — will never forget.

7/17/26
Starting at 2:00 PM – Campers check in
7:30 – 8::30 PM – Ice Cream Social at community firepit – free ice cream with donations appreciated
7:30 – 8:30 PM – Campfire Story Circle and Introductions at the community firepit. Join us as the Shelter staff shared rescue stories and tales of success.
8:30 – 100 PM – Get together under the stars at the community firepit. S’mores kits available for donations.
7/18/26
8:00 – 10:00 AM – Donut breakfast fundraiser at the camp office. Donuts, muffins and coffee cake. All sales to to Homeward Bound.
1:00 – 5:00 PM – Vendor Village and Shelter Booths in the shaded area under the trees next to the community fire pit. Join us for a collection of amazing vendors from the area with great items for sale for both pets and their humans.
1:00 – 4:30 PM – 50/50 raffle drawing. Winner announced at 4:30 PM
1:00 – 2:30 PM – Adopt-a-Pet Meet and Greet.
1:00 – 2:30 PM – Paw Print Art – Preserve your pet with an art work done by a local youth artist. $10 donation per keepsake.
3:30 PM – Pet Costume Parade followed by Cutest Pet Contest. Join us for a fun parade around the park with all our visiting pets ending with a contest at the end to award the cutest pet with a fun pet worthy prize.
Shandy’s will be on site serving hamburgers, brats and hearty beans so be sure to come hungry!
8:30 – 10:00 PM – Outdoor Movie Night at the community fire pit. Join us for a showing of “The Secret Life of Pets”. $3 popcorn and $3 S’mores kits available for sale benefiting Homeward Bound.
